Everyone loves a good event! However, have you ever attended an event with no idea of the purpose? I know I have! The purpose of an event may differ with each client but the purpose of public relations remains the same, to generate interest. The one thing I'm sure all of my Love Publicity clients have heard me say is "events bring awareness." A lot of business owners do not understand the difference between a party and an event to brand their company. However I’m here to tell you that events are an important part of a complete communication strategy and can be a great way to connect with customers and engage with new prospects. The key is to make the event valuable that’s why I wanted to share my 3 tips for a PR Friendly Event:

1. Pinpoint the goal
The steps for organizing a successful event are universal and these basic principles can be adapted for any event and any level of event experience. You MUST define the purpose of the event and the results the client is looking for before anything else. Once you outline those goals you can start the thorough planning process and you shouldn’t stray a way from this.

2. Pay Attention to Detail
Whatever can go wrong will go wrong. That’s why paying attention to every detail from the logistics of the event to the way a sticker is placed on a water bottle is a key component to a PR friendly event. Key details never go unnoticed. When guests are impressed on how you ironed out every detail of the event. They will talk! Everyone wants their guests talking.

3. Make it Interactive 
Offering an engaging way to connect with your target market is key to increasing impressions for your event. What will get your guest talking? At a child’s birthday party parents have come up with all types of creative ideas to keep the children engaged and active. Think of your guest as children and keep them engaged with your client’s brand.

So as you create your client's next event or your publicist puts together your next event, be sure to plan well, pay attention to detail and make it interactive!
